The Needles venture began in 1988 when Keizo Shimizu began experimenting with juxtapositions of American-made staples with Japanese shapes and fabrics. The result was tricky hybrids that the designer has perfected, so much so that all the cool kids are now catching on. The Japanese label breathes new life into its fan-favourite track pants, weaving polka dots at every angle. Soft, stretchy and breathable, they’re pleated at the leg and the Papillon inspired butterfly logo spreads its wings at the thigh.
